I consider myself to be a Human Being first and an American second. As such, I place humanity over country. If that makes me less patriotic, it makes patriots less human.

WHEN I QUESTION WHY I’M NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP

so I noticed many people talking about vaccines.

I couldn’t agree more since my mother refuses to let me go anywhere near a doctor. I’ve been sick for the past 5 weeks, and she thinks it will all go away with her “natural remedies”. yesterday, I told her I was going to see a doctor whether she liked it or not, and she thinks i’m just being a rebellious little teenager. I feel horrible because she thinks i’m a gullible person, when she is the one following these people who think they can cure themselves of cancer and everything is “in your head”. seriously.

While there is good reason to be skeptical, the Bible is not a good reason.  Isn’t the Bible the thing with the consistently 800 and 900 year old peoples?

if the bible told you that you should jump off a cliff to show your faith, would you do it?

Of course they would!  Someone just died of a rattlesnake bite because the Bible said they should be able to able to handle serpents without danger.  His dad died of a rattlesnake bite to, indicating the unfortunate fact that these people reproduce.

World Science Festival 2012
Hey NYC folks, looking for something to tickle your neurons this weekend, expand your knowledge horizons, or give you brain fodder for your next date so you can see if he/she shares your love for science while simulataneously impressing them with your worldly nouveau-Renaissance intellect? The World Science Festival is all over town today through Sunday (June 3).
There will be events covering everything from neuroscience to cosmology, panels and salons galore (the French intellectual kind, not the hair kind), family-friendly hands-on events for the kids, and of course a good opportunity to see Alan Alda or Levar Burton in public … because when do you really get the chance to do that?
Not in NYC? Rest easy, there’s a whole mess of webcasts to follow from the comfort of your own pants-optional home.
Go! Get out there and learn.
